Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Tikiberry.
Is Tikiberry safe?
Yes. Tikiberry uses escrow to protect every transaction. Your payment is held securely and only released to the seller once you confirm you received a valid ticket. No money moves until both sides of the deal are complete.
What is escrow?
Escrow means your money is held by a neutral third party (Tikiberry) until both sides of the deal are done. The seller cannot access your payment until you confirm the ticket is valid. This protects both the buyer and the seller.
What is the 15 minute rule?
Once a seller accepts a deal, the buyer has 15 minutes to complete payment. Once payment is confirmed in escrow, the seller has 15 minutes to transfer the ticket digitally. If either party misses their window, the deal is automatically cancelled. The buyer gets a full refund and the ticket goes back to the market.
Can I get more time to pay or transfer?
Yes. Each party gets one optional 10 minute extension. The buyer can request extra time to complete payment and the seller can request extra time to transfer the ticket. Extensions are granted automatically and can only be used once per deal.
What happens if I never receive the ticket?
If the seller does not transfer the ticket within their time window, the deal is cancelled automatically and you receive a full refund. If there is a dispute after transfer, raise it through the Deal Room and our team will review the case.
What happens if the ticket is fake or invalid?
Do not confirm receipt. Raise a dispute immediately through the Deal Room. Our team will investigate. If the ticket is confirmed invalid, you will receive a full refund.
How long does the seller wait to get paid?
Once the buyer confirms receipt of the ticket, funds are released to the seller within 24 hours.
What is the platform fee?
Tikiberry charges a 10% platform fee on every completed transaction. This is deducted from the seller payout. Buyers pay the listed ticket price with no additional charges. There are no listing fees and no monthly costs.
What is a Safe Transaction link?
Safe Transaction lets you protect deals that started outside Tikiberry — on WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram. The buyer generates a secure TK-XXXXX link and sends it to the seller. The seller accepts, the buyer pays into escrow and both parties are protected from that point.
What types of tickets can be sold on Tikiberry?
Tikiberry currently supports digital ticket transfers only. This includes tickets transferred via Ticketmaster, Webtickets, Howler and other platforms that support digital ticket transfer. Physical tickets are not supported at this time.
Can I cancel a deal?
Before payment is made, a deal will cancel automatically if the buyer does not pay within 15 minutes. Once payment is in escrow, cancellations are handled through our dispute process. Do not confirm receipt until you have received and verified the ticket.
Is Tikiberry available outside South Africa?
Tikiberry is currently focused on the South African market. All prices are in ZAR. We may expand to other markets in the future.
